Often yes, but the answer depends on the countries connected to the contract, the type of document, and the signing method used.
Many countries recognise electronic signatures for ordinary commercial contracts, but some documents may require extra steps such as a particular type of e-signature, identity checks, witnesses, notarisation, or a wet ink signature.
Before relying on an electronic signature across borders, check the governing law, the place where each party is based, the type of transaction, whether the signature platform creates an audit trail, and whether the document will need to be filed with a court, registry or authority.
For a starting point, see our definitions of electronic signature, wet ink signature and governing law.
