Electronic Signature

An electronic signature is a digital way of showing that a person agrees to a document or contract. It can include typing a name, clicking to accept terms, drawing a signature on a screen or using an e-signature platform.

Rules for electronic signatures vary between countries and document types, so some documents may still need extra formalities, witnesses or a wet ink signature.
