A lodger licence agreement is a great way to formalise the rental of a spare room in your main home.

This short tutorial will explain how you can create a lodger licence agreement within minutes on Legislate.

The first step is to set the terms of the licence. These terms are accompanied by information tips if you are not sure how to answer them. Since a licence is not a tenancy, the licensor does not need to register the deposit should they collect one.

The next step is to invite the lodger to the agreement. If you are taking on multiple lodgers you will need to create a separate licence agreement for each lodger.

They will be sent an email notifying them of the licence and inviting them to view it on the platform.

Parties can use the Activity Tab to communicate with each other, keeping all of your communications in one place.

The next step is to sign the licence agreement when all the terms have been accepted.
