When a document has been redlined, it has been edited and red ink (typically) has been used to cancel out certain areas of text or make suggestions to the document. Redlining was typically used in contract negotiation.
However, redlining can create confusion and slow down the negotiation process. It also runs the risks of misinterpretation and mistake.
