A landlord can recover a property to use for holiday letting or student housing. If they wish to use it for holiday letting, the tenancy you hold must be a fixed term for less than 8 months. If they wish to use it for student housing, the tenancy must be a fixed term for less than 12 months. In both instances the landlord must serve notice, and the property has to have been occupied for that purpose at some point within the last 12 months.
