Governing law and jurisdiction are related, but they answer different questions.
A governing law clause says which law will be used to interpret the contract. A jurisdiction clause says which court or forum can hear a dispute about the contract.
For example, a contract might be governed by English law but give a particular court jurisdiction to hear disputes. In international agreements, both clauses should be reviewed because they affect cost, strategy and enforceability if something goes wrong.
