About Seedcamp

Seedcamp is a European seed-stage venture capital fund which was launched in London in 2007. Seedcamp has a successful track record of being the earliest backer of a number of leading companies such as Revolut, Wise, Hopin and UiPath. Seedcamp tend to have standard investment and legal terms for the pre-seed round and will follow the terms of lead investors at the seed round. Seedcamp will lead pre-seed investment rounds but will partner with other lead investors for seed rounds. Seedcamp tends to invest £300k in exchange for 6-7% at the pre-seed level and £500k at the seed level.

Hopin was founded in 2019 and is one of the fastest growing events platforms. It started as a platform for hosting virtual events but has since expanded to hybrid and in-person. Hopin most recently raised $450M at a $7.75B valuation. Hopin has to date used its funding to make 6 acquisitions and hire just under 1000 employees.

Why did Seedcamp invest in Hopin?


For Seedcamp Partner Tom Wilson, "the stars just perfectly aligned” when they met founder Johnny Boufarhat. Seedcamp love backing founders building products that genuinely change the way we interact which is what Hopin has done by replicating the experience of offline events with for example booths and networking breaks.
