Change Control Clause

A change control clause sets the process for approving changes to scope, pricing, deliverables, service levels, timelines or project assumptions. Without it, teams can drift into informal commitments that are hard to price, evidence or enforce.

The clause should state who can request a change, what information is required, whether work pauses while a change is assessed, how pricing is calculated and when a signed change order becomes binding. It works best when aligned with the service level agreement, notice clause and termination rights.
